Wonthaggi & District Historical Society is an incorporated, not for profit organization founded in 1959. It is the custodian of the town and district’s mining, social and cultural heritage. Local newspapers, documents and manuscripts, photographs, maps, local histories, oral histories and objects all make up our archives. The historic, former Wonthaggi railway station building is both a museum and home to the society.
